What is IPR?
Intellectual Property is a collection of ideas and concepts, which can be protected through trademarks, copyrights and patents. IPR allow the patent holder, trademark, carrier or copyright work to benefit them for their brainwork or investment.
IP can be better understood with various types:
1. Copyrights
It is the exclusive rights given to the creator, writer, author, artist or any one for the original work to print, publish for a fixed period of time.
2.Trademarks
It is a unique symbol, signature, or design of goods or products or services representing a particular company. It deals with the reputation of the company's brand and act as a guarantor of the origin of the service or products provided.
3.Patents
It can be termed as legal monopoly granted to a individual or a firm to make use of their brainwork by others, which can be done by selling their invention and making it a restricted property for use.
There are some conditions to recognise any invention.
a). It has to be a new invention.
b). It should not be obvious
c). Their needs should hold industrial application.
4. Geographical Indication
GI is a distinctive sign used to identify a product as originating in the territory of a particular country, region, or locality.
5. Industrial Design
Industrial design trains one to blend art with applied science in order to improve a product in terms of visual aspects, its application and usage.
